#BlueBrewBooks I didn’t get a book read last week, but this week I’ll be reading “The Serviceberry” by Robin Wall Kimmerer. If you haven’t read her brilliant “Braiding Sweetgrass” (or even if you have) this 100-page illustrated beauty should be a nice bite of inspiration!

This pair of eastern bluebirds will likely be the ones to claim the nest box as I’ve watched them going in and out of it over the past several weeks. It won’t be long until I see them carrying nesting materials in. Here they are perching in/near the serviceberry next to the bluebird mealworm feeder.

For an uplifting yet quick read, pick up "The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World," in which MacArthur Fellow Robin Wall Kimmerer explores a gift economy with the Serviceberry plant and its surrounding community as an ecological metaphor.
