For #NationalTreeWeek we're celebrating how trees can help boost both a productive landscape as well as biodiversity.

You can see below how one farmer, working with our #SevernTreescapes team, is transforming his land 🌳💚

Our #SevernTreescapes team works with land managers to plant trees in places that are right for their land. This #NationalTreeWeek, see how one farmer is adding lines of trees to shelter crops from the wind & creating ponds to hold water 🌳

More trees in the ground 🌳

This time, our trustee Chris joined #SevernTreescapes and members of the local community to plant a hedgerow in a small community greenspace, making the area better for wildlife and people as well as providing even more connectivity between gardens 💚👏

Thank you to everyone who came to our #SevernTreescapes recent hedge and coppice day at Hill Top Farm. As well as planting hedgerow and coppice trees to improve connectivity for wildlife and sustainable timber for the future, we talked all things trees and sustainable timber for building. 🌳

Many thanks to National Trust's The Weir Garden & other properties who hosted our #SevernTreescapes team to nosey around their wood pasture, woodland & orchards – we spotted wonderful trees, fairy fingers fungi & a beautiful (& rare) jennet pear tree 🌳💚

Hedgerow trees are very important in the landscape, adding to the already varied habitat that hedgerows provide by acting as a perch for birds & hosting a wide range of fungal & invertebrate species 🐦🐛🐌🪵🌳

Our #SevernTreescapes project is helping add more trees into hedgerows & the wider landscape 🌳
A tree in a hedgerow. The hedgerow is on the right hand side and there is a gap, at the far end, through which you can see another field as well as more hedgerows.

What incredible weather for a workshop on surveying orchards for deadwood for #SevernTreescapes ☀️

Thank you to Vale Landscape Heritage Trust for hosting & to everyone who came along; we hope we’ve got you started on your surveying journeys and look forward to hearing more about what you find 🍎🍏🐞🐝🦋
Three people in an orchard inspecting a fruit tree that's laden with red apples, it's a sunny day A row of fruit trees on the right side with a track between them and the row you can just see starting on the left side. It's a sunny day. Two photos - the left shows lying deadwood between two fruit trees and two people walking away in the distance. The right photo shows the rotting base of a trunk, a red apple is lying in the grass beside it. An orchard with a wide grassy track between rows of trees - there are people towards the end of the track and it's a very sunny day with almost clear blue sky
