So the OED seems to think that the word "shallop" is probably related to similar Dutch and Spanish words. And also mentions "sloop." Given that I'm hungry and food is cooking, the word "chalupa" is making me hungrier!
Making an adjectival form of the word is a bold move indeed!

Finished most of the text on my Red Bay Shallop embroidery but (for some reason I know I’ll regret) I’ve decided to do the first and last words in satin stitch. One letter completed and I think it will look pretty good (but take forever!)
