AND the nationwide strikes/sickouts NEED to start as well!!!

Take it from a plane: You probably shouldn't fly by next week. The sickouts are going to cripple air traffic and it's going to get gnarly at airports.

The corruption of NC Republicans will continue until drastic action is taken: massive sickouts.

Participate in a focused nationwide general strike.
Shut down shipping & trucking:
•All longshoreman on the Great Lakes and both the Pacific & Atlantic coasts, organize a work sickout & work slowdown
•All trucking companies organize work sickouts & work slow downs
Americans cancel any fed contracts!

It'll reenter once TSA sickouts begin.

In the labor strife of the last few months, we see the clear impact of the two austerity budgets generated by the Wash. State Legislature in 2025-2026.

Ferry worker sickouts; state employee walkouts; picketing by teachers and college staff:

Each are consequences of deep cuts to state services.

1) the 2018 govt shutdown was ended by the prospect of sickouts by air traffic controllers

2) it’s important on principle for federal workers (who had their union busted by Trump) to establish that we can’t assume they will work for no pay. Only way to lend urgency to govt shutdowns.

it comes after meetings and speak outs and sickouts and work slowdowns and phone zaps and NLRB complaints and lawsuits — it takes a *lot* for a shop to get to the point that a strike is on the table.

it’s not something you wish into being.

checking in from Kentucky, where in 2019 we elected a Democrat governor in a state that in 2020 went Trump +26 all because Republican incumbent Matt Bevin went after teachers, including an incident where he said that teachers participating sickouts probably led to kids stuck at home getting abused
I'm honestly curious what percentage of teachers, even Republican voting ones, actually hate the teachers union

This an honest question, I really don't know
Oklahoma Superintendent Ryan Walters announced he would step down from his controversial tenure to serve as the head of the conservative group Teacher Freedom Alliance, announcing, "We're going to destroy the teachers' unions."

TSA still isn't getting paid while DHS is shut down. At some point, sickouts and other wildcat strikes, or just straight up attrition, are going to remove capacity and cause long lines to start to snarl at airports across America.

Unless something suddenly causes people to fly a lot less.

BREAKING—New Trump White House memo says furloughed federal workers aren't entitled to backpay. (Read: possible mass- airport sickouts if TSA & air traffic controllers refuse to work without pay during shutdown)

Scoop: White House memo says furloughed federal workers aren't entitled to backpay
A move to deny backpay to up to 750,000 furloughed workers would dramatically escalate Trump's pressure on Democrats to end the shutdown.

The General Strike talk is definitely an example of that
There have been one day sickouts - "Day without a Mexican" for example - but not organized by unions

The Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (PATCO) was founded in 1968. In 1969, the Civil Service Commission ruled that PATCO was in fact a union, and the group orchestrated a series of “sickouts” to protest unfair FAA actions, creating major air traffic delays nationwide. /2

When teachers in ruby-red Union County, North Carolina, are resorting to sickouts, there’s a problem.

It’s a fair question to ask which is a bigger material consequence of no state budget: Medicaid cuts or legislators ignoring a court order to provide decent funding for schools.

But it’s indefensible that only one of these issues gets mentioned in budget pieces

Now is the time for unions to stage "sickouts' ,college students to stage "sitins' and military leaders to refuse illegal orders.

Because America’s opinion-making class is divorced from its working class, its voice is limited to (correctly) pointing out that the latest [insert thing] is a sign of democracy in peril. But nothing about direct action: community self-defense, boycotts, sickouts, general strikes

Sickouts and sabotage tbh
March 28, 2025 at 5:20 PM
I post this because Americans need to be prepared for the possibility that even upcoming May 1 No Kings protests won't be soon enough, and people need to be planning for widescale peaceful protests, rolling or targeted general strikes, and sickouts as early as tomorrow AM to force impeachment

Rolling sickouts. Say educators one day. Teamsters day two. A public transportation including airlines day 3. Retail day 4 and so on.
October 20, 2025 at 1:51 AM
ATCs should do rolling sickouts nationwide. This has a crippling effect on the economy, which undermines the fascist agenda. All workers can unite behind rolling sickouts, work slowdowns, and quiet quitting. Consumers buy only absolute essentials. Fascists thrive only if we let them.
