The #FirstCrusade succeeded on #ThisDayInHistory in 1099 in its long #SiegeOfJerusalem. On entering the city, #Crusaders showed what piss-poor #Christians they were by the #MassacreOfJerusalem. Thousands of Muslim, Christian, & Jewish residents were murdered & holy sites defiled.

A key moment in the #FirstRomanJewishWar (67-73) came in the #SiegeOfJerusalem, when in 70 on #ThisDayInHistory Roman legions breached the outer wall then used every tree in a 10-mile radius to build a palisade around the city. Anyone attempting to flee was crucified on the spot.
