Sigrid got a shout-out in Defector today, @robertjbennett.bsky.social

Sigrud Je Harkvaldsson, The Divine Cities trilogy He's loyal to his friends, he's haunted by his past, he's fucking enormous, he's naked and greased up in fat to fight a giant tentacle monster. Sigrud is maybe the only character that gives Reacher a run for his money in my affections. This whole trilogy is incredible. Sigrud forever.

Just finished City of Stairs and it's brilliant. Amazing world and characters that stick (Sigrud rules)

I rarely 5 star a book. @robertjbennett.bsky.social is a genius.

#9 City of Miracles - Robert Jackson Bennett ends the trilogy on a banger. Really loved every book in this series, each revolves around a murder but feel like a slightly different subgenre. Sigrud is a really great character and I'm glad we got a full book with him.

I just ripped through @robertjbennett.bsky.social's Divine Cities in 5 days and I'm quite thrilled and titillated by the idea of Alan Ritchson as Sigrud Je Harkvaldsson, assuming we allow the Large Young Man to grizzle up a bit. His accent work in Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is exhilarating.

Q. How large are we talking, here?

A. Very large! Book Reacher is 6'5", 250 pounds of pure muscle, with hands described as the size of things like "dinner plates" and "thanksgiving turkeys"

Alan Ritchson is actually only 6'2" but the show makes admirable use of camera angles and he looks huge

Have you looked into the Dungeon Crawler Carl series? I also love Sigrud and he's got some similar vibes...also dark humor and wickedly funny

Hello #booksky I need recs.

I'm looking for books with characters like
- Sigrud (City of Stairs series)
- Ragnar (Red Rising series)
- maybe Nona Grey (Book of Ancestor)

You know, a violent piece of menace with deep emotional chaos for me to dwell in. But also... tender?

Are there others?

Okay but has anyone asked you if Sigrud was inspired by Brock Samson?

Here are some more samples!!!
Someone's OC drawn in the style of Hades. They have brown skin, curly dark brown hair and brown eyes. They wear an assortment of jewelry and armor. He also seems to be in motion, with an air of calm surrounding him. A DnD character drawn in a style inspired by Supergiant's Hades. The character is wearing a loose pink robe, revealing a kintsugi scarring across their chest and leading up to their face. They have a book laid out over their lap. Two people stood near each other, one of them--Basette Brightdawn--is holding a broken piece of an artifact. They stand at 5'9 and have a thicker build. They have long, wavy dark hair that reaches their hips, green eyes, and warm brown skin with scars in some places. The other person is Sigrud Brightdawn, she stands at 5'4 and is of a slender build. She holds a clipboard and a pen. She has lighter brown skin and blue eyes, highlighted by blue eyeshadow and eyeliner. She also has short red bob. A Veilguard Rook OC, he has very thick, moss green curly hair with a lot of volume, green eyes and brown skin. He has dark green eyeshadow and dark lipstick. This Rook is staring at the viewer with an unreadable expression.

Just finished "City of Miracles" the third novel in the "Divine Cities" trilogy by Robert Jackson Bennett.
What a brilliant ending to such an amazing trilogy.
I am bereft after being in The Continent for days and days.
My love for Sigrud knows no bounds.
Also blasting Maybeshewill, which is fitting.
