This is a close-up, macro photograph of a very small bumblebee shrimp, which is approximately 5mm in length, excluding its claws. The shrimp is perched on one of the spines of a reddish-pink sea urchin. The shrimp's entire body is covered in a striking pattern of alternating white and dark brown pinstripes, giving it a bumblebee-like appearance. Its legs are translucent with distinct yellow and black bands. The shrimp's long, thin antennae extend forward. The sea urchin's cylindrical spines provide a textured, reddish-pink backdrop for the tiny crustacean. The background is a dark, out-of-focus body of water, making the colors and details of the shrimp and urchin stand out prominently.

Singer Island Bridge — the common Yellowline Arrow Crab (Stenorhynchus seticornis) in all its spindly glory. Zoom in on its eyes.

A spindly, orange-colored crab is centered in the image, nestled on a background of fuzzy, purple sea fans and sponges. The crab has an elongated, triangular body with a sharply pointed “nose” (rostrum) extending forward. Its long, thin legs stretch outward like a spider’s, helping it blend in with the delicate, branch-like coral around it. The textures are intricate, with fine hairs on both the crab and coral, and vivid underwater hues in purple, orange, and red tones.
