I really should invest in the stupid expensive Snapmaker U1 hood and some kinda activated charcoal rig. My main issue is my window is the perfect setup to make ventilation outside nearly impossible

just crashing in here to say that I never thought I wanted to print supports in a different material until I got a snapmaker... and printing supports in translucent PETG is a game changer. they just slide right off and leave nothing behind!!!!

I’d love multi-head printing but my trusty P1S is capable of incredible quality. I haven’t tested the U1 but I’ve heard the print quality is quite good too.

Or for anyone who wants a good printer that doesn’t produce actual kilos of waste when printing, get the Snapmaker U1. Bambu is notorious for paying influencers. I doubt the verge came to this conclusion on their own.

That'd be a fair critique, if Prusa machines weren't overpriced even compared to non-bambu printers (The snapmaker U1 is really the closest _real_ competition and is competitively priced). And complains about Chinese involvement always stink of a certain brand of racism.

Agreed that it's hard to tell real complaints about China from racism, and once you look closely, basically every kind of gadget is predominantly made in China.
But not Prusa. So maybe labor and R&D cost them more.
(Snapmaker is Chinese, but no idea if that gives them any special advantage.)

I've already got my head printed using the Snapmaker U1.
The neck section would probably what I would print next. The back half is kinda fugly with all the electronics haphazardly chucked wherever I had space. Printing the neck segments in TPU with softer TPU underneath would be.. so nice.
