#SnarfQuest
only if it's Snarfquest.
‘Star Wars’ is crossing over with ‘D&D’ in two upcoming books from Wizards of the Coast https://www.geekwire.com/2026/star-wars-crosses-over-with-dungeons-dragons-in-two-upcoming-books-from-wizards-of-the-coast/

Dragon #113 is all about the cardboard dragon but also features articles on new battle rules for the Conan game, jets in Top Secret, robots in Gamma World, joining the interstellar police in Traveller and both Wormy and Snarfquest!

Dragon #158 is an Anniversary issue and they're almost always about dragons with this issue being no exception. A lot of stuff on the increasing role of computers as well as a look at the new Call of Cthulhu revision. No Snarfquest or Wormy, unfortunately.

Absolutely.

But I also love obviously scifi characters in fantasy settings.

• Aveeare (VR-X9-4-M2) from Snarfquest
• LUX TIZER from 7th Saga
• Robo from Chrono Trigger

Dragon #82 comes with a complete game inside as well as articles on healing plants, magic rings, some Dragonquest alterations, a preview of the Top Secret companion, advice on curing the dreaded Monty Haul malady plus Snarfquest #7 and Wormy!
September 8, 2026 at 3:18 AM
Dragon #156 is an April Fools issue packed full of great advice, a monstrous compendium of sorts, some splendid magic items and an "adventure," all wrapped up in an amusing Daniel Horne cover. We're past Wormy and Snarfquest so that's disappointing but a cure is coming up...

Dragon issue 200 is a jam-packed Milestone issue whose focus is on wizards but also adds a Sandy Peterson column, a module by Ed Greenwood, some new baddies for West End Games' Star Wars RPG and a Margaret Weis story! Larry Elmore provides the cover AND a 5 page Snarfquest tale IN COLOR!!

I already have a copy of Dragon issue 100 but for three dollars I'm not passing it up. Gary Gygax introduces Dragon Chess and gives us a Gord the rogue story while the bulk of the issue is made up of a module set in modern times. This issue is one of the greats. Plus Wormy and Snarfquest!

Dragon #152 features a long look at the Underdark, some fiction by R.A. Salvatore, some words on quests, Top Secret mission advice and all the usual colums and articles you've come to love and enjoy. Sadly, we're past What's New, Wormy and Snarfquest which is pretty bleak.

Dragon Issue 160 is all about cities. It also gives a look at one of my favorite monsters, the Gibbering Mouther, and includes both a poster as well as TSR Trading cards! This is Second Edition so we're way past Wormy and Snarfquest for that matter.

I'm a old school D&D fan and beat off to this series QUITE a bit. I have long maintained that the gungan design was informed by Larry Elmore's Snarfquest strip that appeared in the back of Dragon magazine. I wanted Snarf and his companions in a orgy.

Dragon #123 is the "Magic and Wizardry" issue and one I remember very fondly when it came out so I spent up a bit and reacquired it. Once again, it's packed with fun and informative articles, as well as Snarfquest and Wormy.

Threw in Dragon #132 for the Larry Elmore Snarf Quest cover and they shaved a couple bucks off as the ABC guys are tops. Plus, a board game included and an article on humorous RPG's like Paranoia and Teenagers from Outer Space!

I would love to see an episode, or segment talking about the history of comics in the TTRPG space. Stuff like Knights of the Dinner Table, Dork Tower, Wormy, Snarfquest. You could toss in some short interviews with some of the creators that are still with us and can be tracked down.

Yeah, he doesn't remember it.

I wonder if it was in an old comic strip like SnarfQuest or something.

Just wasn't the same after SnarfQuest ended

seeing this reminded me of Elmore, which reminded me of SnarfQuest, which caused me to find out there was a SnarfQuest kickstarter back in 2013, so I guess I'm late to that party ...

Haha yep, those weird mail-order games.
Wormy, Snarfquest, and What's New With Phil & Dixie (by Phil Foglio) were my faves.
I had no idea about the Wormy thing. :(

I think his name is Snarfquest

I think it was Holloway who drew a few images of him, but I know Elmore did it at least once when he was behind on his Snarfquest comic pages for the Dragonmirth section.

In this point-and-click adventure game from the mind of Larry Elmore, you play as Snarf, a Zeetvah from Zeetville on an epic quest for fame and fortune. (Mostly fortune.) Can you help Snarf earn the gold, help the woman, and win his place on the throne?
