Just the surface, there were ones on how hos strikes in the duel at the end aren't aiming to kill, how snoke was the snow queen, of course death and the maiden. And a lot of these were all before 2016 was out, Rian had barely talked about 8 yet.

Tbh I didn't think Jedi was that radical (it plots onto the beats of The Empire Strikes Back, Rey saves the day by literally making it all about lifting rocks). It's smart where Rise was silly, but not wildly divergent to me? Aside from Snoke it definitely looked better than the others, though

Basically, in the comic story they put out after The Rise of Skywalker, The Rise of Kylo Ren, he's how Kylo gets the Knights of Ren (retconning info from the Force Awakens Visual Dictionary) he also basically now shares the role of "evil mentor" with Snoke instead of just snoke.

Like, it begins with spies arriving with information about a cloning program, and the fear is that they're trying to bring back Snoke. Espionage and investigations take them one way, but reaching out with the force suggests something bigger. Woops! It's Palpatine!

For a little while in The Last Jedi it revisits the primary theme of the original trilogy, which was "MOVIES!!!" but it gets back on track for the Snoke showdown.
