#Social-Spending
overthrowing govs, sending people to detention facilities for torture, cutting taxes for the rich, slashing social spending for the poor, increasing military spending, promoting christian nationalism, demonizing gays, surveilling citizens under "national security." same old GOP.

Trump's Big Ugly Bill is the culmination of 40 years of increasing social control in America — ballooning spending on immigrant detention.

To actually make communities safer, we should be spending on social investments like housing end education.

There is a lot of misinformation about the UK social security spending.

The chart below shows Total UK social security spending as a percentage of GDP, 2013/14 to 2030/31 (spending & forecast)

55% goes to pensioners, the remainder covers everything else.

Keep in mind that Pete Hegseth's reported Pentagon spending spree happened just months after Trump and Republicans made devastating cuts to the social safety net in exchange for huge tax cuts for the rich.

And defense spending may soon hit a record $1.5 trillion.

Priorities.

Imagine spending the first few weeks of your child’s life suing the Social Security Administration so your baby won’t be deported.
Jackson's goes back to practicalities "How does this work? How are we determining when, or whether, a newborn child is a citizen of the United States. ... are we bringing pregnant women in for depositions to figure this out?"

The SG says it'll be easy in many cases and if SSA is wrong they can sue.

Instead of CUTTING Social Security benefits, Congress should INCREASE payments by $200 per month and extend the solvency of the Social Security program by 75 YEARS.

How? Make the wealthiest Americans pay a fairer share.

I’ve got a bill to get it done.
Social Security's insolvency date is now a year earlier. Here's how it could impact your benefits.
Social Security is dipping into its trust fund to pay current retirees, with spending outpacing its revenue from payroll taxes.

I was told the robust European social democracies wouldn’t cut social spending and militarize. What the heck

What about spending hours on social media sucking on someone’s pipe?
A parent in my district asked his friends if your kids had to have one vice between vaping and spending hours on social media, which would you pick?

Rep. @rokhanna.bsky.social : “They are basically saying Congress doesn’t matter… Article 1 doesn’t matter… they can stop spending money for public schools… Medicare… social security… this is literally their theory.”

Trump's Big Ugly Bill includes huge increases in spending on ICE and immigrant detention.

It's the culmination of 40 years of increasing social control in America.

To actually make communities safer, we should be spending on housing, education, and healthcare instead.

Always cuts for social programs. Never cuts for military spending.
BREAKING: House Republicans have released their budget resolution. They are aiming to cut Medicaid by at least $880 billion, and cut SNAP by at least 20%.

People can’t really think a Harris/Waltz administration would’ve allowed a non elected person to hack into the social security database and steal our information under the false notion of cutting federal spending … right?

HERE IT IS…

Elon Musk wants to slash “entitlement spending” to cut the budget—which means Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are on the chopping block.

He claims the waste is in “entitlement spending,” and lies that undocumented immigrants are collecting benefits.

Soon to be Trillionaire Elon Musk seeks to cut $1 to $2 trillion in spending — including medicaid and Social Security — to pay for tax breaks for the rich.

Donald who?

Rep. Riley Moore says Republicans are looking to pay for more tax cuts with cuts to mandatory spending -- that is, Social Security and Medicare

House Democrats are fighting to protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

The partisan Republican spending bill is an attack on veterans, seniors and families.

Unacceptable.

Bluesky's making social media fun again: yaaaaayyy
I'm spending too much time on it: nooooooo
November 26, 2024 at 10:56 PM
There is no way to cut $2.5T in spending unless you make cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

My parent’s social security check should not be cut to pay for President Elon Musk’s massive billionaire tax cuts.

one thing that would help with reconfiguring social media influence would be if the democratic party stopped posting, providing free labor and credibility, on social media apps that are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to destroy them and their constituents

They're spending millions of dollars on this campaign. Imagine what social services could do with that money.

Trump's oligarch Elon Musk plans to eliminate Social Security and Medicare, among other programs he calls "entitlement spending" and say that’s "the big one to eliminate.” #EndOligarchy

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Spending hours gaming is better for your mental health than hours of doom scrolling through social media. Games give you critical thinking, strategy, stories, goals and actual dopamine, as opposed to anxiety.
