Yes, you read that correctly. The *state* is enforcing a curriculum on college profs, complete w/ the following restrictions:

Now that Sociology courses don't count for GenEd credit, far fewer students will take them, let alone choose Sociology as a major. And so, Sociology department budgets will shrink, meaning fewer faculty and fewer courses offered.

My daughter got her PhD this week! Sociology, specifically, Sociology of Law, looking at inequities in conferring citizenship to immigrants (worldwide problem). Thesis topic is actually more complicated than what I just wrote, but anyway, KVELL KVELL, SO PROUD!
