genuinely insane how hacking the xbox 360 went from "never going to happen" to "you can but it takes 2 hours average to get anything" to "it's almost instantaneous now" to "there is a softmod"

Wii <3 With the affordability of the majority of its library, and with just how many consoles, Wiimotes, and classic controllers are out there. Really is something for everyone on it.
HDMI adapters are cheap and decent, and it's super easy to softmod. Plus it's a living console online again.

BIG Xbox news, Microsoft are still ghouls that you shouldn't give money to, and you can buy / softmod an old Xbox for pretty cheap anyway. It's still one of the cheapest retro consoles to collect games for too, if that's your jam.

BIG Xbox news, Microsoft are still ghouls that you shouldn't give money to, and you can buy / softmod an old Xbox for pretty cheap anyway. It's still one of the cheapest retro consoles to collect games for too, if that's your jam.
basically you should still be excited for the softmod since it's basically providing the building blocks for something potentially bigger contributed by other people

more people need to understand that some things are not implemented purely because it's not within the scope of a project rather than out of malicious intent
