Yesterday I discovered Battery-Emulator software, and as an off-grid person this got me real excited. The project here is 30kWh storage in a salvage car battery that cost less than $900 USD.

So, let's get more V2H and V2G tech going!

DIY solar stuck to someone's fence, with a single axis mechnically adjusted angle finder. :-)

What's interesting though is the speed of evolution. This version here got feedback, and within minutes, they redesigned it...

May or may not blow over, but at the price a DIY’er pays - probably got a sweet ROI, and could take a topple every few years if damage minimal and repaired in house.

I found a trove of free solar panels (patch.com/new-jersey/caldwells) and I now have a new project to get them up on the roof of my carport. Wish me luck and respect the wagon!

Hopefully, it's more of a midlife incident than a crisis, but this weekend I dumpster dived for 1,587 pounds of photovoltaics. Feeling a little sore. I hope 7.6W/lb isn't a bad deal. I'm still dismayed that the school district is just throwing them out.

Project "How do we build a full off grid solar power system for cheap" continues apace. Just picked up this trailerful of 330w panels for $27 each. They're all tested. This should bring my home configuration up to about 4kw of solar.
