Ifrah F. Ahmed, who I remember from her Somalian cooking pop-ups, pivoted from international human rights law to championing Somali cuisine. Her book is "Soomaaliya: Food, Memory, and Migration: A Cookbook."

In @thecut.com she says she's proud to educate people about Somalia's rich history & food.

Ifrah F. Ahmed’s cookbook, Soomaaliya: Food, Memory, and Migration, warmly invites everyone to celebrate Somali cultural heritage across 75 recipes.

February: I've previously posted about Soomaaliya: Food, Memory, and Migration: A Cookbook by Ifrah F. Ahmed, but I wanted to highlight it once more. So good to see regional African cookbooks being published!

Soomaaliya

Grote aanrader!

This isn't out until March 2026, but I couldn't wait to celebrate it here.

I'm so glad to see regional African cookbooks getting published, but it's critically important that we preorder so publishers know there's a good market.
