Reappraisal of the phylogenetic relationships of hirsutella-like fungi across Ophiocordycipitaceae and Polycephalomycetaceae (Hypocreales, Sordariomycetes), and the description of seven new species
Entomopathogens constitute a unique and specialized trophic group of fungi, most of which belong to Hypocreales (Sordariomycetes, Ascomycota). In this study, eight species were collected and isolated ...

Wang, @jeffreytownsend.bsky.social et al. analyzed gene expression across developmental stages in nine Sordariomycetes fungi. Rates of gene expression evolution varied by stage, correlated with dN/dS, and were lowest in conserved pathways.

Unveiling Sordariomycetes taxa associated with woody litter in Northern Thailand
Sordariomycetes species are abundant in woody litter samples. In this study, we introduce two novel species, Diaporthe thailandica (Diaporthaceae) and Occultitheca chiangraiensis (Xylariaceae), from w...

Vähän normisienikirjaa kattavammasta teoksesta löytyi laji (netistäkin kyllä): mustaloisikka #Tolypocladium ophioglossoides (ennen #Cordyceps). Eipä älytty kaivaa maata sienen alta, olisi löytynyt myös MAAHIKAS
#Elaphomyces sp. - tää sieni on toisen sienen loinen.

Unidentifiable Xylaria
Was initially expecting X. cornu-damae but the spores are too small, and I no longer think it's anything listed by MushroomExpert, Mycoquebec or the 1993 key I was referencing. If it's a known species it's not one I can find good reference material on.

Hi Rob. Yes, this is likely the "Ilyonectria sp." from my website under Sordariomycetes. Would be a nice one to culture and / or sequence.

Coolest part: Tangerine might have mediated HGT between fungi present within a lichen, as genes from Tangerine seem to be horizontally transferred from Chaetothyriales, a group of black fungi often found in lichens, including Xanthoria. We found other potential HGT events linked to Starships too 4/6
