HOLY DAMN!!! Another monumental #TF2 shadowdrop just happened, this is not a drill. The TF2 devs added team fortress' code to the source SDK, making it so tf2 sourcemods have a official pathway to be released on steam.

Through outside sourcemods. Outside sourcemods also allow for modifying the information related to live TF2 items, such as equip regions and stats, and players can use their live TF2 equivalent (killstreaks, stranges, skins, item names).

just wanted to chill out and play a half life 2 mod before bed and instead i spent an hour troubleshooting because sourcemods are apparently completely incapable of working on my system due to a bunch of esoteric file crap so i am just going to bed eeghghhhhhhhghhgh

yes, but the mod no longer includes every single tf2 asset, so the download for SDK based sourcemods should be a whole lot smaller

In conclusion: People are going to play this for 5 minutes, realize there's less content than live, then go back to live.
People need to stop doing sourcemods like this and actually do unique shit like Lambda Fortress or OF, because TF2c already pretty much covers the ground for “TF2 but”

Valve have just updated the Source 1 SDK on GitHub to the latest code based on Team Fortress 2, effectively making TF2 code source available.
SDK was previously updated in 2014.

Adding new sourcemods completely fucks up every other sourcemod btw. Shuffles banne art around, I keep finding them hidden for some reason. It's effed up

This has became in the past year+ how I talk about Current Code. "This game is amazing cause it sucks!" I love how wack that game is, because that's where the heart is. I think games should suck in a way that's cool, like sourcemods did for me as a kid
