Criticism is a talent not of creation but discovery. It takes intellectual flight off the springboard of someone else’s creative ground. You never know where it may land. The Daemon Knows: Literary Greatness and the American Sublime (@SPIEGELandGRAU) by Howard Bloom #FridayReads

This book soared in its portrayal of Aleys of Brugge in the 1290's who saw the joyful dancing bits of God and knew something special was waiting for her. Was she a saint? Did she perform miracles?

Do you have any insight into the criteria @SPIEGELandGRAU publishers used to decide what actor would narrate your book. I was a little surprised to hear such a crisp Caucasian U.K. accent narrating what is essentially YOUR written voice talking to the reader in 1st person.

Such a contrast between those who would loose arrows at those who just wanted to fly.

And the ending.... let me know if you read it and what you thought!

This imprint was always a beacon for me. I so wanted to work here. Sorry to see it go. But um my team @ Hachette Books needs a publisher if either @julieegrau or Ms. Spiegel (no twitter?) would like to apply?! #SpiegelandGrau #DreamBossLadies

I am heading to Minnesota to hang out with my literary BFF Pamela and revisiting a classic that has been so helpful to her for decades. I was saddened to learn of the passing of Melody.

Like Ellison, I'm very inspired by music. My new novel has shout-outs to @SPIEGELandGRAU and condemnations of whack literati.

If I could bottle my @SPIEGELandGRAU editor and take him with me everywhere I could avoid so many errors.
