Council President Betsy Wilkerson said the Spokane City Council approved appointments to two commissions, adopted amendments to council rules of procedure and approved Spokane Riverkeeper as the sole-source organizer for river shoreline and park cleanup events; the council also held a hearing on street-vacation ordinances for Astor and Sharp.

Council Member Zach Sapone told the Spokane Salary Review Commission that current pay and workload narrow the candidate pool and leave members using personal funds; the commission voted to develop a compensation recommendation using benchmarking and a CPI-based cost-of-living adjustment for 2028.

Steve McDowell told Spokane council that few New Markets Tax Credit projects have closed locally and urged coordination with CDEs and banks to capture federal allocations that could finance health centers, mixed-use development and job-creating manufacturing projects in qualifying census tracts.
