Since Israel seized the Rafah crossing, fewer than 200 people in total have been allowed to leave for treatment, while more than 22,000 critically ill patients have been barred from exiting by Israeli authorities. Israel has also destroyed or damaged every hospital in Gaza and continues to block medical supplies and international doctors from entering. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus @DrTedros Yesterday, @WHO has completed another medical evacuation of 19 child and one adult patient from #Gaza. Four child patients are in need of cancer treatment that they will receive from the @StJudeResearch programme. The rest of the patients will be receiving specialised care in #Jordan. We are deeply grateful to St Jude and the government of Jordan for their continued support in treating patients from Gaza. We continue to call for more countries to show their solidarity, as over 16,500 patients in Gaza need urgent specialised care and for opening of all evacuation corridors, especially to West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
