Your indicator of the probability of recession increases not before recessions, rather in recessions. Therefore it is a weak indicator.
Why?
Because it ignores debt of households and firms.
Economies fall into recession when the change in interest rates exceeds real wage growth

So did you adjust median wage for CPI? It would be better to use purchasing power but you would know that if you had a method to do so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Under the first Trump administration, population growth (black) slowed sharply, presumably because of anti-immigration pressure.

Here's the effect it had on excess rent inflation (blue), in case you were hoping to excuse the cruelty.

While short-term rates are declining, long-term rates are increasing. This interest rate behavior may be signaling an expectation of future fiscal deficits and large debt-to-GDP ratios, which would result in higher interest rates, notes #stlouisfed

On its face, it looks like AI is hollowing out the dev industry to COVID-era lows.

My take: Technical jobs are likely transforming, becoming more AI orchestration and prompt gen.
