I once sat in a meeting where a male VPEng spent nearly 30 minutes talking shit about a woman staffeng who had the temerity to quit because she was tired of being treated poorly. It stopped when I said, "This is a team issue, not a women issue, and I'm not helping you hire until you fix it."
the stink of gender resentment coming off Silicon Valley has been obvious for a while. these men hate women because they hate being told no.

I spent my last few years of my career as a post-progammer (Staff Eng variety). However, to get a StaffEng job you need to prove you are a Programmer+SWE combo, and I'm not.

moreover, engineering is rarely done by a person, at any sort of interesting scale; it is basically always the union of at least one programmer and at least one non-programmer, or, post-programmer (PMs, EMs, Staff Engs, et cetera)

L'IA, on en parle beaucoup, mais c'est pas inné. Depuis peu on a accès à Cursor, l'adoption reste hétérogène dans l'équipe.
Je passe du temps à accompagner les devs : présentations, démos. Gros changement, ça prend du temps !
