We never said AOSP was being discontinued. You've linked to a Hacker News post which cites a subreddit called "StallmanWasRight" as a source where the poster falsely claimed we said AOSP was being discontinued. Despite a small portion of what being taken out-of-context, it's clear we didn't say it.

Did you look in the Systems Apps list? It's often hidden in there apparently, although some people are saying it mostly appears to be on the cheaper models. eg.
