Photometry seems a rather blunt instrument for detecting starspots. Is it possible we're underestimating starspots? So the Sun is even less Sun-like?

Two artworks in one day? The harvest is bountiful this season.

Left: the star Vega, not attempted true color (I just used an off-the-shelf blackbody calculator for the color and eyeballed how much darker the equator would be)

Right: Granules and starspots greatly exaggerated to be visible.

Remembered that Iota Pegasi A is around the upper edge of the Kraft break, likely indicating it has thin convective shell and weak global dynamo = possibly no starspots? I'm not sure what exactly would happen, so I just leave a few small starspots.

Got this really cool shot of my friend standing in front of the two suns setting in the distance as they eclipse each other. This shot alone is worth all the space weather trouble!

Winner: cold starspots (37 stars), then hot accretion spots (22), then dusty extinction events (37 combined). Classic T Tauri messiness: spots, accretion, and dust all competing.

Red Giant XX Trianguli Has Massive Starspots, Dubbed the ‘Most Spotted Star in the Sky’
A massive starspots were reported on the red giant star XX Trianguli, situated approximately 630 light-years away from Earth. These starspots, which exceed the total surface area of the sun, have earned the star recognition as the "most spotted star in the sky." Reports indicate that these spots behave unpredictably, unlike the sun's cyclical sunspots, hinting at more turbulent internal processes. As per sources, researchers from the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP) and the HUN-REN Research Center for Astronomy and Earth Sciences (HUN-REN RCAES) conducted the study using AIP's STELLA robotic telescope in Tenerife.
