#Starlink’s
Starlink’s 100mph/160kph speed limit on terminals won’t stop Ukrainian strikes inside Russia. Starlink doesn’t work there anyway.

What it DOES restrict is Starlink’s functionality inside Ukraine, hampering Ukrainians’ ability to defend their own country.

Funny that. almost like it was deliberate.

I've struggled for years in how to effectively do my job covering Starlink's impact on the inflight connectivity world against the backdrop of Musk's behavior. That keeps getting harder.
Nobody at SpaceX with an ounce of self-awareness can be surprised to see the EU prioritizing tech sovereignty when Elon Musk can't resist treating Starlink as an instrument of his personal foreign policy.
TBH, it's good to have a strong competitor to Starlink. Let's see if these European companies can band together to pull it off.

Maybe the EU should consider whether to suspend Starlink's operating license within the EU - and maybe also X while they are it?

Musk is writing the story of Starlink's early demise. It is now a completely untrustworthy product - for anyone.

Fedorov says Starlink’s in-motion speed limit has been restored to 160 km/h, and he is working to remove the restriction entirely. It was “restored” because the limit had dropped to 70-80 km/h during the day.

Starlink's overnight operation to cut Ukraine's drone capabilities wasn't aimed at halting Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory - that option has never existed for Ukrainian Forces - it affected Ukraine's drone operations against Russia inside Ukraine.

We want to hear Starlink's explanation for this. Let's get it out in the open.

❗️Ukraine needs Starlink’s speed limit raised to at least 450 km/h, or removed entirely, sources told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty journalist Alex Raufoglu. They say the current 160 km/h limit is insufficient for countering jet-powered Shahed drones. #Ukraine

Restrictions on Starlink's operation in Ukraine do not depend on me," - Musk.

"These systems belong to the U.S. government, so restrictions can be imposed by the military or President Trump."

Now might be a good time to re-read my article about Starlink and its alternatives

Starlink Alternatives: Can OneWeb and Others Compete?
Governments want a Starlink alternative. We look at OneWeb, satellite counts in orbit, and whether any rival can match Starlink's dish and network.

Since returning from negotiations in Miami, Ukrainians say they've been caught out by:
- a Trump-announced energy truce Russia hasn't followed
- lack of intel on ballistic attacks
- limitations on Starlink's military terminals

Is the US trying to sideline Ukraine in its own war?

🇺🇸🇺🇦 Members of the US Congressional delegation in Kyiv have called for expanding Starlink's capabilities for Ukraine.

In their opinion, this will strengthen Kyiv's position on the battlefield and help force Russia to negotiate.

Unfortunately, Starlink's service in extremely useful in areas without alternative service infrastructure.

I'd like to eventually see it nationalized as an essential service, and due to it's inherent monopoly on it's type of service.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, Zelensky said of Ukraine's relations with the US: "It is a pity that we are losing a strong partner."
Zelensky also called the restrictions on Starlink's operation for Ukraine "a big mistake." He stated that this decision would lead to human losses.

Musk has also curtailed Starlink's capabilities, affecting Ukrainian military missions.
He poses the greatest danger to the free world. Insidiously, he is making himself indispensable in many fields: space, AI, media, transportation...

Yes, that’s why Starlink’s business partners should call Elon and tell him to quit f’ing around.

Elon Musk has just killed Starlink’s prospects. Every country should now look for alternatives.

Starlink's fine. The problem is Musk. If SpaceX had a real board then none of this would be happening.

Starlink’s strategic and tactical advantages should never be under the control of a single emotionally-immature and vengeful radicalized partisan lunatic like Elon Musk. In fact, Starlink should nationalized and placed under our nation’s military control.
