Steerswoman by Rosemary Kerstein.
What’s your white whale tv/film adaptation that needs to happen

Fantastic series. If you haven't read it, I recommend it highly (starts with The Steerswoman).
A friend just told me that @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social started a Patreon to help her finish the last two books in the Steerswoman series, and I have never subscribed to a thing more quickly: www.rosemarykirstein.com/2024/11/so-a...

Exploration. Discovery. Danger. A Steerswoman goes where she must.

The Steerswoman book series doesn't have a TV show or movies (yet?) so I put this together from other sources! Highly recommend the books - they're a lot of fun!

They were @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social's 4 Steerswoman books (been wanting them in print) & Becky Chambers' forthcoming AS YOU WAKE, BREAK THE SHELL. (Getting my fall-winter TBR set up. 😄)

My career as Steerswoman Influencer continues apace

(no but seriously, read them!!)
So now I pass the chain of recommendation on to you. Ryan North told you that Randall Munroe told that you Gretchen McColloch told you you will like The Steerswoman. Read no spoilers, read no plot summaries, simply enjoy

So here are 6 uncached US Kindle copies of @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social's THE STEERSWOMAN, the first book in the THE STEERSWOMAN series, which ... has a reveal that is *amazing*, and so I won't say too much about it.

The book was recommended by @jdnicoll.bsky.social on usenet.

I highly recommend Rosemary Kirstein's Steerswoman series. I think when the first one was published in 1989 it was way ahead of its time. It's a story with twists and turns and mysteries the reader and the characters gradually unravel and so many things are not what they seem. It's a fantastic read.

I would like the next Steerswoman (Rosemary Kirstein) book.... but that might be low-hanging fruit, because she's working on it! <joy>

I can never recommend highly enough The Steerswoman Cycle by Rosemary Kirstein. I don't want to say any more, but if you trust me at all, start with The Steerswoman (first book in the so-far four book cycle). Great stuff. I can't guarantee you'll love it as I do, but worth a try!

I am reading my eldest book 1 of the Steerswoman series (my third time, my kid’s first) and it’s such a good time
This is your periodic reminder that word of mouth moves more books than any formal advertising! I invite you to rec something you've recently enjoyed -- preference for the stuff that's *not* already extremely well-known and talked about everywhere.

Every time I rewatch this vid I think: There should really be a #Steerswoman TV show. It would adapt so well! It would be timely & relevant!

I’m rereading the Steerswoman books and no pressure but I really hope @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social finishes them someday

Pretty mad that @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social’s Steerswoman series has been around for most of my life and it took until 2026 for someone to recommend them to me.

My sister bought it!

You all should, it's brilliant. @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social is on here.

Favorite fiction read of the year: The Steerswoman series by @rosemarykirstein.bsky.social. Favorite nonfiction: Probably Bright Ages by @lollardfish.bsky.social and @profgabriele.com.

Completely unrelated, one Kindle edition of the Steerswoman ha a "fiWith", which was due to a Scrivener update doing a badness with the search & replace fields... (It replaced "replace" with "With," *literally*. Thus... fiWith.)
