Across Germany, landscapes once dominated by coal mining are being transformed in different direction. Closed mines, enormous excavated areas, are filled with water over many years, gradually turning former industrial sites into artificial lakes surrounded by new green spaces #ActOnClimate #StopCoal

Cutthroat trout no longer exist in either the headwaters of Crowsnest Creek or in East Crowsnest Creek. Their ability to withstand the indignities created by coal mining was finally exceeded. Their disappearance was confirmed [..] in 2020.
