during the Nigerian Civil War the govt used starvation as a weapon and Norwegian Christians sent stockfish as aid. Stockfish broth, high in protein and vitamins, became part of the Nigerian culinary identity as a base for dishes. It's a Norwegian ingredient, sent out of love, now made for its love.
