Just struck me that storypoints is like scrip/vbucks/robucks/mobile-game-crystals. It's an abstraction to give power to the manager to redefine it as whatever they want it to be, in order for them to say how long a task should take rather than the worker.

Just added a mind-blowingly awesome feature into Subtxt. You could always Develop Storypoints with Muse, but you kinda had to know what to ask. With the new “Review” feature, it’s just one click – and the answers so far are SPOT-ON! This will really make a difference. 🎉🚀

Dit is zeker herkenbaar. Onlangs ben ik uit een project gestapt dat zo dichtgetimmerd zat in overleg, stand-up, sprint, storypoints dat er van werken niet veel kwam. Terwijl ik na een projectdag op mijn wenkbrauwen naar huis moest, zo ontzettend moe van alle energie verspilling.

If you are not tracking anything, start tracking time, if your teams are already using some proxy metric (like storypoints), use it!
but never ever aim for 100% accuracy - that is wasted time for everyone and frustration for the teams - what you are looking for are "ratios" of time spent on XYZ.

I can’t look at them and feel wow those kings and queens like no they’re just characters that were responsible for so much retcons and lackluster storypoints and it frustrates me so much

So... good news: I'll get a new chapter out tomorrow. Bad news: it's about half the length of my usual ones. Decide-for-yourself-news: ...it's because it ends in another cliffhanger! ...honestly, some storypoints are just automatic chapter endings and there's no elsewhere-bits to add to this one.

the result is stuff that is too smooth, too inoffensive. Creative control is execs, not artists with vision. It must appeal to everyone all the time and so it appeals to nobody. Cool ideas are tossed in the trash because implementing them is "a Large T-shirt and we only have 4 storypoints to spare"
