Headed north yesterday for our Scottish holiday, staying at Strathpeffer. At least 5 wood warblers new in at Killiecrankie. Also four nuthatches, 2 dippers and a goosander. Pairs of displaying merlins, peregrines and golden eagles in Strathdearn, also 5 wheatears, and a ring ouzel heard.

Yes that's correct. Strathdearn is a unique site which could be built to store up to 6.8TWh.

Deep in the Monadhliath - a glen behind the munros with one of the headwaters of the Findhorn. Easy to get to from Strathdearn, but a long way. It reminded me of a recent visit to Tierra del Fuego. I was pretty tired having lost my mobile and covering a lot of ground looking for it.
