Imagine if all the substantive things Donald could work on with the time he spends trolling us on social media.

(I’m kidding! He’s too stupid & incompetent to accomplish any substantive things.)

Along with the capitulation, this is the worst part.

The relentless focus on process and “bipartisanship” rather than articulating the substantive issues with the bill and articulating a substantive alternative
The Senate Democratic Caucus was unified on a ‘clean’ one-month CR that would have kept the government open and given Congress time to negotiate bipartisan legislation. I’m disappointed that our Republican colleagues wouldn’t join us in that effort.

it is quite literally not ad hominem to say that you make arguments that are not grounded in anything substantive or material. a quick substantive question for you: does “illiberal left” have any meaning for you other than “people i don’t like?” by what metric are my views “illiberal?”
The funny thing is Bouie and the illiberal left who follow him respond to all criticism of left-woke excess with ad hominem, mobbing, and stigmatizing differing perspectives. They continue to behave in exactly the way that is generative of the ascendant woke-right backlash.

not hard to find substantive conversation here if that's what you want

I think it’s frustrating that millions of Americans can come out in opposition to fascism and the media refuses to even acknowledge that substantive charge
March 29, 2026 at 1:33 AM
They keep acting like the Trump-musk thing is a distraction from a more substantive issue but it IS the substantive issue! They’re literally fighting about the bill! Take the W!

These contiguous posts in my timeline show how companies, both big and small, can either devote themselves to the trivial and evil or the substantive and good.

The number of substantive things democrats can do while locked out of power is quite limited, but stopping this stuff is real and substantive and good.
Wow. Fourth batch of Byrd droppings is out - Dem staff absolutely dominated the HSGAC fight

We won on reorg & bonuses for cost cutters ofc, but also on at-will, filing fees, and USPS green vehicles & infrastructure sales

Seriously, major praise to the D staff

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone here at Bluesky for the follows and the conversations and the constructive, substantive interaction. It's a great forum, a great resource for circulating and talking about the news, and -- most of all -- a pleasure. I'm grateful!

Take a second and think before posting the easy Eeyore reply. You might have something substantive to say instead. Or, even better, you can say nothing at all.

Conclusion:

The Supreme Court’s decision was procedural, not a substantive endorsement of the Trump administration’s use of wartime powers.

Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble.
For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity.

What will you do?

“Trump signed a similar executive order in 2020!” isn’t actually a substantive rejoinder here. it’s barely relevant.

"the only way to win" [hurriedly commissions some push polls] "is to adopt all my substantive preferences on hot button cultural issues"
