#Sudecon
should be the same recipe for homemade sudecon wipes, but the oils may bind to synthetic materials easier so it may take a bit - so in the reference recipe that rosehip recommends it's johnsons baby shampoo, but i suspect any other similar detergent will work - rosehipmedics.org/storage/2026...

the basicness of milk isn't nearly enough to cause an effective chemical reaction. which is good because those science-class volcanoes are exothermic, which you don't want on your face.

sudecon is the military/police go-to for skin and surface decontamination, and rose city medics in pdx

Correction: Wipes are called Sudecon, I spelled it wrong.

Milk is ineffective, or no better than water. There’s a wipe called Sudecon that helps if available.

Can that amount to the face cause blindness?? Sudecon wipes should be brought to protests, though here, it’s as thick as cheese sauce. www.life-assist.com/products/det...

I could be at DomCon LA, I *should* be at Bay FC’s Pride Game (up 1-0 at halftime), but instead I’m at home, trying to will an injury to heal quicker (3+ months is a long time to be out of circulation), and ordering Sudecon and wash bottles before there’s a run in case things get out of hand here 😢

Okay, I popped a few resources under the respirators and posted the DIY Sudecon recipe in the relevant places.

Feel free to share widely, and if needed, you can copy and paste this info to post elsewhere. I don't need credit; I just want the information out there.
My "What You Need To Know About Tear Gas" thread:

First, tear gas is a particulate, not an actual vapor or gas. In some cases, this means you can get some of the tear gas off your clothes by standing in a stiff breeze or strong fan.

DIY Sudecon wipes. These are messy and sticky, but easy to make.

I'll go back and add some resources under some sections where they apply (like the DIY Sudecon recipe, mounting pic for old glasses, and a couple others as I find them).

Please feel free to share widely.

For skin:

Use oil-free makeup, Sudecon, or DIY Sudecon wipes FOR SKIN ONLY!!! Never the eyes. This will reduce burning.

A 50/50 mix of Maalox and water is okay as well FOR SKIN ONLY!!!

Water only for the eyes! Tilt head to the side and aim a gentle jet at the inner tear duct. Use a key to poke a hole in the lid of a water bottle.

Sudecon wipes, DIY Sudecon wipes, oil-free makeup wipes, or a 50/50 mix of Maalox and water for skin only.

NO MILK!

ICE agents stopped by protesters after the shooting an observer in Minneapolis, according to witnesse. ICE deployed pepper spray and tear gas.

LAW is no longer recommended for eyes. Skin only. Make up wipes, Sudecon wipes, or DIY Sudecon wipes also work.

For eyes: water or saline only. Tilt head to the side, poke a hole in a bottle of water (like keys), and gently spray a jet into the inside corner of the lower eye. Blink furiously.

For chemical irritants:

Use the recipe below for DIY Sudecon wipes. Apply only to the skin.

For eyes, water or saline only. Use a car key to poke a hole in a bottle of water. Tilt the head to the side, and aim the jet at the inside corner of the bottom eye.

Make up wipes are good for skin only if you can't get or make Sudecon ones. Give me a second and I'll find the DIY recipe they had in PDX.

It really is.

Also, update your folks’ info. Make up wipes work to remove chemical agents from skin. Solves a lot of the issues with Sudecon wipes going bad and a lot of women already have them in their purses. From OTG activists in Sacramento and LA.

Okay, I promised I’d alt-text this earlier, so here you are. DIY recipe for Sudecon wipes. Use only on skin. Water only for eyes. These keep for a few days at room temp and are kinda sticky but easy to make. The recipe can be cut for smaller batches.

DIY Sudecon wipes work very well. They are a little sticky to make, but very easy.
December 26, 2024 at 1:14 AM
I appreciate their attempt but it honestly it feels like they just are taking this seriously when they haven't tried flushing with massive amounts of water.

That is pretty basic high school level stuff and it works for a vast array of stuff.

My shopping list went from tuning forks, chimes, and books on healing > protective window seal, sudecon, double door bolts, and a dashcam.

Last time I upgraded my tactical gear was his first term.

If you have any friends in the streets in LA (or anywhere else), it's a good idea to carry Sudecon wipes. They're specifically made to counteract the effects of teargas and pepper spray, and much more effective than trying to use milk.
