Sitting in a train to Cologne, finally having the time to read this beast. It's auch a beautiful book. There was thought put into every page. The design, artwork, writing. It feels so human (in the best way possible)
Also my art ist in it. Which still feels quite surreal.

My second contribution to @summereternal.com 's anthology book! Loved getting to familiarise myself with each of these guys.
(Please see replies for the rest of the alt text. It was too long)

A spread of different drawings depicting the characters “Rico, Redrick and Astrid” from the upcoming RPG “Red Rooster” by Summer Eternal. The artwork is done in a semi-realistic and somewhat manga’ish style, and are coloured only in black, white, grey and red. These drawings were part of the Summer Eternal Anthology book. The first drawing depicts Rico and Astrid standing by a prison bus. Rico is sitting on a foldable lawn chair drinking a beer, while Astrid stands by his side with her arms crossed. RICO: “The university told me to stop calling. They’re scared alright” ASTRID: “No, that’s pretty standard policy when we get one of those guys who’s got *theories*”. RICO: “That’s alright. You guys think you got license for answers you can issue or suspend. But it don’t work like that. We are all animals, savages. We weren’t meant to live in concrete and polite gestures. I know that you know that book-reading ain’t gonna take you to the answer. You really wanna get to the truth, you go for *the animal solution*”. ASTRID: “... I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Next to this drawing is one of Astrid sitting in an office chair. She is about to drop red liquid eye-drops into one eye. The next drawing is one of Redrick with large pitiful eyes and a stiff, apologetic smile. Beside him, text implying his internal voices read: IMAGO [easy - success]: “There you go again. A passive observer of your own life. Waiting for her to take the reins.” NIGREDO [hard - failure]: “Another layer on the bezoar of swallowed words that sits calcifying in the pit of your stomach.” Next to this is a full body drawing of Redrick seen from above. He wears a serious expression, glancing directly at the viewer. He is standing with his hands in his pocket while smoking a cigarette, and below him, water ripples spread around his feet.

I'm interested in the reference to a 13th triennial Continental Summer Games. Is sport being used as a proxy for war?
[Spoiler alert: I'm working on my own game in my case the answer=yes]
I'm also thinking of the Sochi Olympics followed only a few weeks later by the invasion Ukraine #SummerEternal

I do think this is *very* worth pointing out and although I haven't read nearly as much of the book as Emily has, I share this concern. #SummerEternal

A while ago I was sent Summer Eternal’s striking new object: a manifesto & manifestation of what they hope to build.

I read it in a day, and was left with a lot to praise, & a little lingering worry.

Not a five alarm fire, but some signs of flammable material.

I wish them safe handling.

I got a chance to check out Anthology Volume One from @summereternal.com, announcing their first game, Red Rooster. It is an enthralling document that should be mandatory reading for anyone interested in game design, RPGs, and art in general. I'm sold. #summereternal

So excited that @summereternal.com's anthology book has released worldwide, and I can finally share this artwork I did for it + the poster version! Credit to Dora Klindžić for the beautiful poster edit🔥
#summereternal #redrooster
Artwork depicting the characters "Daniel Reedus Roost" and "Ishika Hanjura" from the upcoming RPG "Red Rooster" by Summer Eternal. The artwork is digitally painted in a realistic style and is coloured mainly in hues of orange and greyish blue, except for Daniel's red suit. In the image, Daniel Reedus Roost is standing in water up to his elbows. He is looking upwards toward the viewer with a stern, knowing expression. Submerged in the water, the large form of a nude Ishika Hanjura floats. Her eyes are closed and she appears unconscious. Reflected in the water's surface are Ishika's open eyes, which loom ominously in the center of the picture, as well as a burning image of a couple on a bench. Daniel's own relfection is that of a boy looking up at a burning house. Poster version of the same artwork. The image is longer and features logo and credits, as well as the title "Red Rooster" beneath the burning couple. Above the floating Ishika Hanjura reads a tagline "The lights differ, but there is only one darkness". This poster was sent to everyone who ordered the deluxe edition of Summer Eternal's anthology book.

"Our art has been dressed down into an industry, and this industry has been pilfered by corrupt executives, by the vulgar profiteering of corporate bodies moving like leviathans in the dark, burning human fuel in their insatiable lust for money."

Acho que os manos da SummerEternal estão meio putos.
