I have a pretty good 4K BD/CD drive that I use for movie and music backups, but sometimes it just doesn’t ‘like’ an old CD. In those cases, the trusty SuperDrive always comes through! Shame Apple doesn’t make disc drives any longer, they look super nice.

I feel a bit silly asking this but…how do you watch dvds?
I’ve always used my laptop and when Apple removed the dvd drive I got their usb SuperDrive.
But since I upgraded my OS last year, the SuperDrive-with-dongle doesn’t work and Apple no longer makes one.

I feel a bit silly asking this but…how do you watch dvds?
I’ve always used my laptop and when Apple removed the dvd drive I got their usb SuperDrive.

For reasons I do not understand, Apple crippled their SuperDrive and iDVD software with the latest Mac OS. I have no way to watch DVDs anymore.

omg, I’m trying to back up an old - seemingly damaged music CD - which is having real issues with my usual drive/software. Finally managed to make it work with my ol’ trusty Apple Superdrive & manually dragging each AIFF track one-by-one to the desktop.. slow and painful though! 💦

En mi cruzada de reparar maquinas antiguas por puro rencor contra las empresas tecnológicas, le hice tremendo upgrade a mi antiguo MacBook Blanco late 2012, uno de los últimos que aun le puedes cambiar piezas, 16GB Ram, disco SSD y Linux. Le recupere el SuperDrive lector/quemador DVD
