And now I know superacids are a thing...

wat if i had you strapped to a table and sliced little bits of you and injected you with superacids

#Bismuth dications and CF3 groups: this combination yields Lewis superacids, record values in soft Lewis acidity (modified Gutmann-Beckett method) and pronounced catalytic activity in phosphane oxide reduction. Just out in @chemicalscience.rsc.org: pubs.rsc.org/sc/article/d.... Congrats to the team!

Boron‐Centered Lewis Superacid through Redox‐Active Ligands: Application in C−F and S−F Bond Activation
The oxidation of ferrocenyl-substituted boranes and boronic esters allows for the straightforward synthesis of strong boron-centered Lewis superacids. The Lewis superacids were characterized by NMR, ...

Authors of #booksky, explain your story badly:

And They Who Fall Must Rest In Power - what if alt-right paranoid political fever dreams, but queer-lefty and disturbingly plausible instead

🧪 Research Highlight: New superacids for applications in green chemistry discovered! A team led by UniSysCat researchers Martin Oestreich @silicon-martin.bsky.social
& Martin Kaupp (both @tuberlin.bsky.social) synthesized for the first time halogen-substituted silicon cations.

Just look up "superacids" and you'll get a ton

What about Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid?

A tweet I made: “Acids are substances that donate H+ ions to be in a stable state. Bases are substances that accept H+ ions to be stable. There are, however, “superacids” that are /so/ acidic they can force other acids to accept H+, making them act as a base. So anyways that’s why mpreg is hot.”

There are some superacids which can dissolve a wax candle.

Unfortunately they will also dissolve your candlestick, dishwasher etc.

I had fun averting this trope *hard* in my writing, though Sophie will eventually invent some stuff from Earth (in particular single-molecule ceramic deposition using supercritical carbon dioxide and some kinds of superacids) that have niche industrial implications.

I'm... god, I don't even know. Uh. Is it the superacids? Is it stuff about the extremely specific epithetic cults of the Greek Gods? is it likewise specific pieces of Talmud? is it Najabat Khan of the Garhwal Kingdom, who chopped the noses off of invaders and stood off the Mongols?

idk yall.

✧ ❝ I can show ya bit more of my talent, but`cha gotta step back. The gasses I produce from the acid are no joke. ❞

✧【 Sharp, unfathomable, with a corrosive property to anything organic or otherwise ; yet, such came with wielding superacids as a gift. 】

According to the article on superacids I found you can at least store it in glass bottles. Not sure what you’d use for gloves though

✧ ❝ . . . Superacids, enough to corrode the toughest bots. Fluoroantimonic acid, specific`lly ; it's a miracle I can stand it, but it don't bug me. ❞
