the funniest possible joke embedded in HUNT is that the entire movie is organized around a soviet superweapon that doesn't work and the americans already possess
Also strange is that the American sonar tech guy on the submarine trailing the red October figures out the trick to tracking it within a few hours. So I guess the caterpillar drive is not actually a hyper advanced game changer after all.
