I need to do some work still at Motel One lobby, but left my charger in my hotel in Dusseldorf, and really can't travel there and then back to Cologne again for meetings later! 😅

This initially started out as a Krita sketch. At the time, I had an old SurfaceBook 2 sitting around and decided to install Linux Mint on it. It only took 45 minutes including download times and everything worked, the touchscreen, external memory, the Surface Pen. So I started this piece on that SurfaceBook 2 as a test for Krita on Linux. After a time, I used Affinity Designer to create what you see here for want of a vector version of the original drawing.

So I have an old SurfaceBook 2 that i am trying to resurrect from storage, and am stuck trying to understand what's going on with its batteries. They report as 0% and stubbornly fail to charge, which eans I can't get the missing firmware updates installed... Anyone seen this and know a fix?

Grew impatient waiting for the #SteamMachine. Got a Linux based MiniPC instead. The wallpaper works better on the monitor than the SurfaceBook 3 due to the 16:9 ratio.

The more I read about the #Microslop plans for #Windows, the worse it sounds. I just installed #Linux (Ubuntu) on my Surface Laptop Studio and SurfaceBook 3. I installed Debian 13 on the original SurfaceBook. Linux runs so much better than Windows on their own hardware, I'm embarrassed for them.
