Something I love about decluttering is you get to a tipping point where it's small containable messes instead of overwhelming chaos and for me, once that happens, a lot of long-overdue neglected tasks and projects start getting done easily. #SwedishDeathCleaning #Decluttering

Two closets organized, lots more crap donated, a pointlessly large mass of cardboard recycled. Productive day. I'm exhausted. #Decluttering #SwedishDeathCleaning

Swedish Death Cleaning continues. Two days of it combined with Marie Kondo tips created a large haul to my favorite pet charity thrift store. There’s a lot more to be done, but baby steps. #swedishdeathcleaning #mariekondo #thiftshops #decluttering

Dealt with the garage with some help yesterday, so much cardboard and other trash gone. Not done yet, but far easier to navigate and find things now. A couple more afternoons and it should be done.

Can recommend this if you’re looking for a spur to de-hoarding/de-cluttering. Deal with your stuff now so you’re not passing that burden onto others.
I’m trying to live lighter. And finding joy in giving away my things.

A regret for me at 57 is not throwing myself into Swedish death cleaning or its equivalent when I was 37 instead of belatedly unloading the detritus of life that accumulated around me like the ash in Pompeii, because it's exhausting at this age. #swedishdeathcleaning #lateminimalism #dostädning

Day 1
No pic but I junked my old car that was ancient before the pandemic hit. No one made parts to repair it anymore. Parked near a field, mice found it in 2020 and made a nest in the engine.
Got a little bit of money for it.
