25+ years (and 3 boxes of biz cards) at Swinomish doing Geology, Environmental, and Indigenous Science work. And as department director for 12 years!
Thanks to all those who've helped along the way and my Tribe for putting their faith in me to protect our homeland!

I was honored to meet with leaders of the Swinomish Tribe in Washington state to discuss the issues facing their community.

Tribal communities will always have a place in the Democratic Party, and I’m grateful to the Swinomish Tribe for their continued partnership.

Day 11

We saw Sophie & Auntie Mum!
@papitoislove.bsky.social and scored brie & salmon bites on a covered patio on a rainy day!

We went on to a cabin on the Swinomish Tribal lands with no Wifi, so a final slide show after we get home tomorrow!

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday by the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community and the Squaxin Island Tribe, follows the Trump administration’s recent reinterpretation of the Endangered Species Act, which has been protecting imperiled creatures and their habitats since 1973.

To give you an idea of the kind of research and care that went into the creation of this list, it initially included Swinomish County in WA which does not exist.
For context: National Sheriffs' Association prez Kieran Donohue is a longtime supporter of President Trump & his immigration policies (I covered his county in Idaho during Trump 1)

DHS listed Boise, next to Donohue's county, as a sanctuary jurisdiction. (It is not: boisedev.com/news/2025/05...)
