From September 2017 to October 2018, I visited the monthly Electronic Netwerk events at Vinyl in Deptford, London. TEN YEARS AGO. Like nothing has happened since then 😀 These photos should give you an idea of the space, the people, the gear. #electronicmusic #livemusic #synthesisers #londonmusic

#podcast A garden shed on the Thames, a PDP-8 with four kilobytes of memory, and the romantic wish for a machine that could feel.

Conversation with composer, engineer and geologist Peter Zinovieff on the first personal computer and the EMS portable synthesisers.

Right at the bottom of the album’s inner sleeve it says ”No synthesisers!”. Listening to this breakdown of Bohemian Rhapsody you begin to understand why that explanatory statement was necessary.

There's already been ructions and splits in the BAN SYNTHESISERS movement, but it's all good. We just started another group.

I had to remind myself there’s that other Moog that does machinery parts instead of synthesisers. Two entirely different companies. Apparently the founders were cousins

If you're anti-ai then you must be anti synthesisers too, because they're taking the jobs of real musicians. I say bring back the string section! We must spend thousands on real musicians, or we're not allowed to release anything. Money must control art. Let's start a campaign! #banthesynths

Logic by Machine : Another live improvisation for three synthesisers, performed in a bathrobe for comfort. One continuous take, captured on an iPhone. No DAW, AI, overdubs or editing.

No one cares. No one sympathises. We just stay home and play synthesisers.

Have I found a new way to relax? Maybe. Does all the music I’ve created sound like stressful boss battles? Also yes.

Carrie is on that album . And theres a heavy use of synthesisers . I look at it as Sir Cliffs , McCartney 2 .

Remember the early days of synthesisers when everyone decided they were things for artless idiots and had a button marked 'write me a hit' on them?

That.

I see AI as a tool, much like music has gone through synthesisers, drum machines, sampling and digital production. Each one was met with real concern at the time, before new norms and rules settled around it.

something bothers me about those videos of mushrooms playing synthesisers

a certain generation of classically-trained composers should have been kept away from 80s synthesisers

I still love the moody atmosphere of this show, or at least this intro. Everything happens at dusk, plus moody synthesisers and westerns just work so well together. I love the music especially at 00:16-27:00 and the sound effects of the aircraft at 00:22 are burned into my mind.
Bravestarr popped up in the Saturday morning cartoon compilation I’ve got going in the background - Lou Scheimer really blew Filmation’s brains out when he placed his bets on this corny old wild west bullshit AND was unlucky enough to release it at the exact same time the TMNT cartoon debuted.

Sadly the availability of affordable hormone therapy means the pool of people who previously would have become postmen are now hot women with a ketamine problem and double-figures collection of both polycular partners and analogue synthesisers

Why not both? Scream about synthesisers in suburban gardens and livestream it
