Normally in real-time, concurrent software systems we build in monitor processes. I teach @hertieschool.bsky.social students this Facebook / Meta blogpost showing they've done such since 2017 at least code.facebook.com/posts/270314...

To survive a destructive cyberattack, some things must be protected absolutely, some must be fought back under duress, and your architecture must enable rebuild options that may be different from what you’ve lost control of.

Global capital knows what regulators miss: a +$60B Capex surge in AI & Energy. Not burn rate, but funding native deficit reduction while scaling. Left Turn risks demand real-time recovery controls, not kill switches. TIME TO CORRECT < TIME TO CONSEQUENCE. #SystemsEngineering #2K115

Anthropic confirms 2K115: "Left Turn" agentic failures root in base model pre-training bias. But timing is vital: CORRECTION ≠ TIMELY CORRECTION. A 30-min delay is a crash. We need engineering capital for native bias and real-time controls, not medieval kill-switch placebos. #SystemsEngineering

Per F. Brooks’ Mythical Man Month, second systems—buoyed by a first system’s success—lack restraint, and often wind up collapsing in a giant heap of complexity x ambition.

They are reported, but mathematically immune to eviction.

How do you garbage-collect an indestructible ghost in a system where 'delete' requires a physical phase collision?"

If I am way off base here, I have big shoulders.

Rust moving deeper into AMD’s GPU stack is another sign of its growing role in foundational infrastructure.

The bigger idea: make memory safety a property of the platform, not something every engineer must repeatedly prove.

Security engineering starts with a simple question: what function must the system preserve under hostile action? Starting with assets gives you a list of things to protect. Starting with the function shows you why they matter and how they are interdependent. #SystemsEngineering #SecurityEngineering
