Just finished this terrifyingly sexy masterpiece, and I gotta recommend it. The 80s music and movie references interspersed with dreadful paranoia and unapologetic gay lust makes #TheShards absolutely such a fun read (and I need to chat about it if you’ve read it)

#TheShards is by #BretEastonEllis. With himself as a central yet unreliable narrator, it follows his friends in senior yr who may be targeted by a serial killer who might be the new student. Set in the 80s in SoCal, Ellis themes of sex, drugs & crime are prevalent thruout.

#TheShards #Disneyplus

My review of #TheShards is that I accidentally watched the last episode first, and I honestly didn't notice until the episode was over, which certainly says...something? Not sure what, to be honest. (We went back and watched the rest).
So the thing about Ryan Murphy's "The Shards" is that it isn't GOOD, but I wrote 1500 words on it and I've spent the week since I finished my review thinking of all the things I didn't get around to discussing. So it engaged me on SOME level.
My review:
My review:
‘The Shards’ Review: Ryan Murphy and Bret Easton Ellis Team Up for FX’s Predictably Excess-Soaked Tale of Prep-School Sex, Drugs and Murder
Igby Rigney, Homer Gere, Hayes Warner, Graham Campbell and Kaia Gerber lead this series adaptation of Ellis' loosely autobiographical novel set in early-'80s Los Angeles.

On paper, this show should've worked! The premise - there's a serial killer targeting young attractive ppl. Sounds great, as you keep watching, you realize the show goes nowhere! You have all the right ingredients for a show, but don't know how to execute it! Just Sad!!! #TheShards
