Also knowing just basic stuff-- north-south routes have odd numbers, east-west have even. Bypass routes are usually numbered by the distance form the city they're bypassing (495, 395, etc) and thee inner bypasses have spur roads. You could just figure out some stuff, and also get lost a lot
