I am fairly sympathetic to permitting reform as far as CRM folks go but this bill does seem to make really reduce the scope of CRM in ways I just don’t see the need for. And THPO system absolutely gutted.

Super proud of this & MOR- pitched this idea to our Exec over 2 years ago, then to some #Blackfeet Elders who loved the idea. MOR secured grants, the enthusiastic blessing from Blackfeet THPO. ED & Paleo knocked it out of the park. Buncha excited students & teachers. Absolute success! #paleontology
(Part 1) This past weekend, Museum of the Rockies staff led the first ever Browning High School Egg Mountain Eggspedition program at the Beatrice R. Taylor Paleontology Research Area near Choteau, Montana. With excitement and curiosity, students began an unforgettable journey.

Diminish the S/THPO roles; give all power to the federal agencies to allow public participation; fed agencies have all authority at every step of the process without any oversight or transparency. NCSHPO has an excellent peice on what we are facing ncshpo.org/2026/07/20/t...

As someone who does EAs for work, the best kind of comment here is pointing out things that were not adequately studied or documented in the EA. "This is a terrible idea!" will get brushed off. "Did you consult the SHPO, the THPO, and the ACHP?" is a better comment. Argue facts, not feelings.
Please blow up the public comment (included below):

When I worked at a THPO, I got an email from a guy who said he found a pyramid on his property that was buried by a meteor 10,000 years ago and that the "seven tribes"(?) needed their "shamans" there when it opened on the solstice.

The Tribal Historic Preservation Office (THPO) leads efforts to protect Indigenous sites, stories & sovereignty. When we think about preservation, we think about history. Whose history is told and by whom? #THPO #PreservationMonth #SASSAk12 #IndigenousHistory

Call your Congressional delegation and tell them to support the FY25 Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) appropriation. This is how SHPO, THPO, & NPS grants to are funded. This is the backbone of the CRM industry & the majority of archaeological work in the US. ncshpo.org/2024/06/20/c...

Then every action is going through SHPO. Good luck. Maybe THPO too where applicable. Both will be inundated without any additional funding. Yikes.

Do any of my Native history/studies, museum/public history friends have connections with a THPO?

I'm hoping to speak with someone who has experience or interest in digital repatriation, particularly questions surrounding the digitization, stewardship, + access of Native American cultural materials.

Great to visit the Tribal Historic Preservation Office of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska today. The THPO told me that there office was built by tribal members as a WPA project in the 1930s using locally quarried stone.

Thrombopoietin (THPO)-driven neonatal hematopoiesis establishes the hematopoietic stem cell and multipotent progenitor cell hierarchy. While its role is limited in adults, THPO is critical during early development for a structured hematopoietic system. href="https://ow.ly/sOca50YARe5" class="hover:underline text-blue-600 dark:text-sky-400 no-card-link" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-link="bsky">https://ow.ly/sOca50YARe5
