Crime against humanity on multiple levels. Hate this so much.
"Before Stonehenge was raised, before Egypts first pyramid broke ground, before the Nazca people drew their famous lines across the Peruvian desert, someone in what is now southern Arizona shaped a 272-foot fish into the earth On April 23,2026,"a border-wall contractor drove heavy equipment across it"
Trump's Border Wall Construction Destroys 6,500-Year-Old Arizona Geoglyph – Older Than Stonehenge
Arizona's 6,500-year-old Las Playas Intaglio, the oldest dated geoglyph in the Americas, was irreparably damaged by border wall construction in April 2026.

Even if the Bible was inerrant (it’s not), no one’s interpretation of Scripture is inerrant so it’s really just a false appeal to certainty.

Theology gets way more interesting when we set it free from having all the right answers and let it be a dialogue.

Went to the fair and almost left without yardsticks. Found 'em, though.

I'm definitely a dad.

I used to know 3 things about Cornell: bird app, note-taking, and Andy from The Office. Now I know 10 things, and the other 7 are real bad.

One of the worst things about Trump is that he makes us forget how awful the W administration was. It was really bad! In a lot of the same ways! The main reason to think Trump is worse is because it's happening now, not 18(!) years ago.
lol at all the people who've been going "Why isn't Dubya speaking out about Trump??"

folks, he's committed to the same fucking project.

One time at a Thai restaurant, I saw a guy try to sell the restaurant owner a "lucky plant" that would bring him more money. He refused. Afterwards, he asked us, "if the plant was so lucky, why did he want to sell it?"

This is about AI.

This was the only net positive I envisioned from this whole Iran thing. Hopefully, that part sticks. I know we're too far gone with a lot of the tipping points, but the slower it happens, the better.

I was a sophomore in high school during 9/11. I was outside of school with my friends before band practice, and I joked that every time I snapped my fingers, somebody died, then snapped my fingers as fast as I could. (I figured since there are billions of people, someone was always dying).

I think about this sometimes. If the goal was to weaken US hegemony and standing in the world, it certainly set us on the right path.
In important ways, and not ones it intended, Al Qaeda's 9/11 attack succeeded. It helped create a religio-fascist state, only in the USA, not in the Middle East.
I'd recommend Homeland: The War on Terror in American Life by Richard Beck, about the ways 9/11 pushed the people and culture of the US towards authoritarianism and paved the way for Trump. A couple of details that stood out for me, because I hadn't considered this angle before...

Star Trek is something I love across all of its iterations. Its hope is something that's needed as much today as it was 60 years ago. Here's hoping we can live up to its ideals. 🖖
