Yeah, worst case you can just get a physical Tmoney card and load it with cash. Also, weirdly, reloading via Venmo appears to be an option.

Ok, that where I was getting confused. The problems are around phone based cards rather than a stand alone Tmoney card.

I did a single ticket on the Arex Local and then used the Tmoney card on my phone when I needed to leave the Seoul Metro after the transfer and somehow it worked? I’m still not clear how.

We bought some CU TMoney cards a few years ago and still reuse them each time. The 9000 KRW we had leftover from last time covered our travel needs this time. (Airport <> Unseo). But good to know for next time..
