This is less than ideal.

Good thing Carney is anti-fossil fuels and BC & Alberta don't have climate change denying conservative governments.

Oh. Sh*t.

🤭 It’s just stomach-turning for Ms Urback to contemplate the reality that her guy lost.
So in the tradition of the infamous Roy Cohn, mentor to the present occupant of the White House, she adopts the ‘even when you lose, call it a win’ approach to spinning.

On Canada's reputation in Latin America due to Canadian mining corps, here's a cartoon that has made the rounds recently.

"Probably Germany, Switzerland, and Canada are so green because they put their environment destroying projects in countries like Mexico."

This is one of many instances of Canadian mining companies doing horrendous things in Latin America.

This time it's Brazil Potash Corp, based in Toronto.

Canada has a very bad reputation in Latin America as a result of these types of violations.

Well, it starts with sign removal, then in the middle of next month the new council term starts. That’s when councillors are sworn in and appointments are handed out. #ToPoli

Hilarious how the Toronto media are offering up variations on the theme ‘Chow didn’t really win, Bradford got lots more votes than he did last time.’
Mark my word, if the vote totals were exactly reversed, the media hacks would have been trumpeting the Second Coming.

#TOpoli the incumbent who was the #TTC chair sucked. There were so many TTC breakdowns that broke down the city. Line 3 derailment. Track slow downs. Service untimely & irregular that people drove, adding to congestion.

TTC is so inaccessible for disabled passengers. Much worse when TTC breaks down

. @thestar.com coverage of mayor campaign missed the boat as Olivia Chow won decisively versus their spins and articles. 50%ing everything and editorial board not making a decision on the race either to play it safe undermined a city backing Chow. A newspaper out of touch with its city #topoli

My thinking is that Doug gets his dopamine hit, then the city gets to regain some element of control, and cyclists end up with more safety again.

Question for those smarter than me: since the city made a plan for restored car lanes AND bike lanes, which Doug rejected, could the city just move in and implement that plan as soon as the province-hired destruction crews are done? And should they?
