One of my favorite random facts is that each day more people ride the NYC subway than fly domestically in the US. For comparison, 4.72 million subway rides happened on Thursday, October 29th. On the same day, TSA screened 2.51 million passengers.

Boarding a flight from Houston to SD. TSA is checking IDs at the gate and in the jetway. I asked if we were at an elevated threat level, and the agent said “we were told that we have to check every flight to San Diego every day.”
