The #archaeological site of Tamuli Macomer in central #Sardinia from the #Bronzeage nuraghe culture around 3000-3500 years old.
Next to the #gianttomb are the so-called Betili. Six egg-shaped #stonepillars, some with breasts - interpreted as the #MotherGoddess.

Perdas da Tamuli is a megalithic site in Sardegna. These stones date to the Neolithic. Photo by dirk_ercken. Sardegna became the hottest place ever in Italy day before yesterday with +47. #StandingStoneSunday

Not going to lie, that one cut deep.

I adored the Belgariad and the Mallorean, and the Elenium and Tamuli were a close second.

Then in the 00s I find out what was going on... Just.

Ugh.

The "Chosen One" of the Elenium and Tamuli trilogy is a veteran knight in his 40s, and the lead in Dogma I think fits that bill

#TombTuesday is a good opportunity to showcase the #giant #tomb from #Tamuli, Macomer, #Sardinia. It dates back to the #Nuragic culture of around 1000 BC and I visited it last month during my #fieldwork.

I'm at the point where my answer would have to be the Elenium and the Tamuli.

38. My screen name for a thousand years was talinthas, taking the name Talon from David Eddings' elenium/tamuli books and adding the dragonlance elf signifier -thas to the end.

He would repeat this in ways with the Elenium and the Tamuli epics, which also had strongly repeating characters and themes, reinterpreting events and individuals from previous works in a way very reminiscent to transformative / "what-if" fanfic. If you have a long time, they ARE worth reading.

There's a sequel series to the Belgariad called the Mallorean as well as 2 prequels, Belgarath the Sorcerer and Polgara the Sorceress. David Eddings also wrote the Elenium and the Tamuli, two trilogies (Tamuli being a sequel series). Mercedes Lackey had a bunch of books set on Velgarth (the world of

Not to defend somewhat racist fantasy novelist David Eddings, but there's a good part in the Tamuli series where this evil god resurrects that world's equivalent of the Spartans and everyone's like "oh no, those guys were history's greatest warriors"

Unsure why my library has complete runs of The Elenium and Tamuli series, but ok! (And like, half the Malloreon but weirdly none of the Belgariad)

David Eddings! Two series, both of which are split into two parts. The Belgariad and the Mallorean five books each. The Elenium and the Tamuli three books each. Sarcasm and magic abound!

The Eddings' Elenium and Tamuli trilogies have a monolithic church with military orders which the heroes all are members of. Other countries have other gods - the military orders' magic is supplied by a goddess (their god doesn't supply magic).

Oh dude The Elenium and The Tamuli are next. So good

Z fantastyki Resnick, wszystko Lema i Grzędowicza. "Gra Endera"-klasyk.Z fantasy Bardzo lubię sagę Elenium i Tamuli o Sparhawku Eddingsa. Mało chyba znana w PL, mnie zachwyciła.

The Belgariad, the Mallorean, The Elenium, and the Tamuli, all series by David Eddings.

I've read all of them so many times that my originals have been retired because they're falling apart.

Why did you have to remind me? Now I’ve remembered the Tamuli too.

David Eddings. I think it was his Tamuli series. I don't remember how often it came up, but I know at one point a woman warrior says she defenestrated someone, a knight replies "That's a terrible thing to do to a man," and she says "Throw him out a window? I can think of much worse things to do."
