Oh boy, the last formation stream result I posted here was Kimmeridge Clay! Much to post!
Lets start with Tapinocephalus assemblage zone

According to new data, mid-Permian event was a severe terrestrial mass extinction:
"reveals a 74–80% loss of generic richness between the upper Tapinocephalus Assemblage Zone (AZ) and the mid-Pristerognathus AZ"

🦖 Daily Paleo 🦖; Tapinocephalus atherstonei

From Middle Permian South Africa, "low, depressed head" is a species of 2 ton dinocephalian therapsid with a barred-shaped body, short snout, and dome shaped, pachyostotic skull used in headbutting for mates or territory

I am helping to do concept art for a Carnivores Dinosaur hunter mod focusing on African fauna. So, here the first one I made, tapinocephalus!

Here’s my top three choices:

1. La Venta, Colombia (sebecids, sloths, sudamerican ungulates, etc)

2. Tapinocephalus Assemblage Zone (all sorts of Permian dinocephalians)

3. Ischigualastro Formation (the "cradle of dinosaurkind" along with many pseudosuchians and synapsids)

due to unclear biostratigraphic correlations between the rio do rasto formation and the tapinocephalus assemblage zone in the karoo basin, it's impossible to say whether rastodon or emydops represent the oldest occurrence of emydopoidea

All three are excellent choices! I think the Tapinocephalus Assemblage Zone would be my pick from these three, just for the sheer amount we could learn with even the briefest footage of ANY of those animals.

Hey, I'm George and I do little clay models and dioramas of prehistoric creatures. Follow for plenty of silly little creatures!

tapinocephalus without the dome head is like a butterfly without wings

My favorite formations are:ermaying formation, bahariya formation, cleveland shale, tapinocephalus assemblage zone, pebas formation and austrian parathethys.
For 2025 i would like to see paracas formation, pinjor formation, wadi el hitan and haraichi formation

truculenta was named and described by E.C.N. van Hoepen in the same year of its discovery. Further remains have been discovered throughout the years in the Tapinocephalus Assemblage Zone, Lower Beaufort Group, of the South African Karoo, South Africa. Jonkeria lived during the Permian

It's called "Tapinocephalus" because when you see one the urge to take your fist and go "knock knock" on it's head is irresistible.
